Hadith text
Narrated `Aisha:I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the plague. He said, "That was a means of torture which Allah used to send upon whom-so-ever He wished, but He made it a source of mercy for the believers, for anyone who is residing in a town in which this disease is present, and remains there and does not leave that town, but has patience and hopes for Allah's reward, and knows that nothing will befall him except what Allah has written for him, then he will get such reward as that of a martyr
Aisha bataati hain: Maine Allah ke Rasool (SAW) se mahamaari (plague) ke baare mein pucha. Unhone kaha, 'Ye ek azaab ka zariya thi jise Allah jispar chaahe bhejta tha, magar usne ise Momineen ke liye ek Rehmat ka zariya bana diya, ke jo koi kisi aise shehar mein rehta hai jahaan ye bimaari maujood ho, aur wahaan raheta hai aur us shehar ko nahi chhodta, magar sabra karta hai aur Allah ke ajr ki ummeed rakhta hai, aur jaanta hai ke usse sirf wahi hoga jo Allah ne uske liye likha hai, to use ek shaheed jitna ajr milega.'
