Hadith text
Narrated Abu Huraira:We went out in the company of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) on the day of (the battle of) Khaibar, and we did not get any gold or silver as war booty, but we got property in the form of things and clothes. Then a man called Rifa`a bin Zaid, from the tribe of Bani Ad-Dubaib, presented a slave named Mid`am to Allah's Apostle. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) headed towards the valley of Al-Qura, and when he was in the valley of Al- Qura an arrow was thrown by an unidentified person, struck and killed Mid`am who was making a she-camel of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) kneel down. The people said, "Congratulations to him (the slave) for gaining Paradise." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "No! By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, for the sheet which he stole from the war booty before its distribution on the day of Khaibar, is now burning over him." Abu Huraira bataate hain: Hum Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ki sohbat mein Khaibar ki jang ke din nikle, aur humein maal-e-ganimat mein koi sona ya chaandi nahi mili, balke humein jaayadaad, cheezein aur kapdon ki shakl mein mili. Phir Rifa'a bin Zaid naami ek shaks, jo Banu Ad-Dubaib qabeele ke the, ne Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ko Mid'am naami ek ghulaam tohfe mein diya. Allah ke Rasool (SAW) Al-Qura wadi ki taraf badhe, aur jab wo Al-Qura wadi mein the, ek anjaan shaks ne ek teer chalaaya jo Mid'am ko lagaa aur unhein qatl kar diya, jo Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ki oontni ko bithaa rahe the. Logon ne kaha, 'Mubarak ho use (ghulaam ko), use Jannat mil gayi.' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne kaha, 'Nahi! Us Zaat ki qasam jiske haath mein meri jaan hai, us chaadar ke liye jo usne Khaibar ke din, maal-e-ganimat ke baante jaane se pehle, maal-e-ganimat mein se chura li thi, ab uspar jal rahi hai.' Jab logon ne ye suna, ek shaks Nabi (SAW) ke paas ek ya do Shirak (jooton ke chamde ke fite) le aaya. Nabi (SAW) ne kaha, 'Aag ka ek Shirak, ya Aag ke do Shirak.'
