Hadith text

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The person about whom Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "If I were to take a Khalil from this nation (my followers), then I would have taken him (i.e., Abu Bakr), but the Islamic Brotherhood is better (or said: good)," regarded a grandfather as the father himself (in inheritance)

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Wo shaks jinke baare mein Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne kaha tha, 'Agar main is ummat mein se kisi ko apna Khalil (khaas dost) banaata, to main use (yaani Abu Bakr ko) banaata, magar Islami bhaichaara behtar hai (ya kaha: achha hai),' wo daada ko waalid jaisa hi maante the (miraas mein).
