Hadith text

Narrated `Aisha:Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas and 'Abu bin Zam`a had a dispute over a boy. Sa`d said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! This (boy) is the son of my brother, `Utba bin Abi Waqqas who told me to be his custodian as he was his son. Please notice to whom he bears affinity." And 'Abu bin Zam`a said, "This is my brother, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! He was born on my father's bed by his slave girl." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) looked at the boy and noticed evident resemblance between him and `Utba, so he said, "He (the toy) is for you, O 'Abu bin Zam`a, for the boy is for the owner of the bed, and the stone is for the adulterer. Screen yourself before the boy, O Sauda bint Zam`a." `Aisha added: Since then he had never seen Sauda

Aisha bataati hain: Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas aur Abd bin Zam'a ke beech ek ladke ko lekar jhagda hua. Sa'd ne kaha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Ye (ladka) mere bhai, Utba bin Abi Waqqas, ka beta hai jisne mujhse kaha tha ke main uska sarparast banun kyunke wo unka beta tha. Barah-e-meharbaani dekhiye wo kis se milta-julta hai.' Aur Abd bin Zam'a ne kaha, 'Ye mera bhai hai, Aye Allah ke Rasool! Wo mere waalid ke bistar par unki launDi se paida hua tha.' Phir Nabi (SAW) ne ladke ko dekha aur Utba se uski saaf jhalak paayi, isliye unhone kaha, 'Ye (ladka) tumhaara hai, Aye Abd bin Zam'a, kyunke ladka bistar ke maalik ka hota hai, aur pathhar zina karne wale ke liye hai. Ladke ke saamne apne aap ko dhaanko, Aye Sauda bint Zam'a.' Aisha ne izaafa kiya: Us waqt se, unhone (ladke ne) Sauda ko kabhi nahi dekha.
