Sahih al-Bukhari 6897

Hadith text

Narrated `Aisha:We poured medicine into the mouth of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) during his illness, and he pointed out to us intending to say, "Don't pour medicine into my mouth." We thought that his refusal was out of the aversion a patient usually has for medicine. When he improved and felt a bit better he said (to us.) "Didn't I forbid you to pour medicine into my mouth?" We said, "We thought (you did so) because of the aversion, one usually have for medicine." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "There is none of you but will be forced to drink medicine, and I will watch you, except Al-`Abbas, for he did not witness this act of yours

Aisha bataati hain: Humne Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ki bimaari ke dauraan unke munh mein dawaai daali, aur unhone humein ishara kiya, kehna chahte hue, 'Mere munh mein dawaai mat daalo.' Humne socha unka inkaar bimaar ki dawaai se aam tor par hone waali napasandidagi ki wajah se tha. Jab unki tabiyat kuch behtar hui aur wo achha mehsoos karne lage, unhone (humse) kaha, 'Kya maine tumhein mere munh mein dawaai daalne se mana nahi kiya tha?' Humne kaha, 'Humne socha (aapne aisa kiya) kyunke ek bimaar aadmi ko usually dawaai se nafrat hoti hai.' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne kaha, 'Tum mein se koi bhi aisa nahi hai jise dawaai peene par majboor na kiya jaaye, aur main tumhein dekhunga, siwaaye Al-Abbas ke, kyunke wo tumhaare is amal ke waqt maujood nahi the.'
