Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "On the Day of Resurrection the Kanz (Treasure or wealth of which, Zakat has not been paid) of anyone of you will appear in the shape of a huge bald headed poisonous male snake and its owner will run away from it, but it will follow him and say, 'I am your Kanz.'" The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "By Allah, that snake will keep on following him until he stretches out his hand and let the snake swallow it." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) added, "If the owner of camels does not pay their Zakat, then, on the Day of Resurrection those camels will come to him and will strike his face with their hooves." Some people said: Concerning a man who has camels, and is afraid that Zakat will be due so he sells those camels for similar camels or for sheep or cows or money one day before Zakat becomes due in order to avoid payment of their Zakat cunningly! "He has not to pay anything." The same scholar said, "If one pays Zakat of his camels one day or one year prior to the end of the year (by the end of which Zakat becomes due), his Zakat will be valid

Abu Huraira bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Qayamat ke din tum mein se kisi ka Kanz (khazaana ya daulat jispar Zakat nahi di gayi) ek bada, gunja-sar, zeharili nar saanp ki shakl mein zaahir hoga, aur uska maalik uske se bhaagega, magar wo uska peecha karega aur kahega, "Main tera Kanz hoon."' Nabi (SAW) ne izaafa kiya, 'Allah ki qasam, wo saanp uska peecha karta rahega yahaan tak ke wo apna haath badhaayega aur saanp use nigal lega.' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne izaafa kiya, 'Agar oonton ka maalik unki Zakat na de, to Qayamat ke din wo oont uske paas aayenge aur apne khuron se uske chehre par maarenge.' Kuch logon ne kaha ke agar kisi ke paas oont hain aur use dar hai ke Zakat ka waqt aa raha hai, to wo Zakat se bachne ki chaal ke taur par Zakat ka waqt aane se ek din pehle un oonton ko waise hi doosre oonton, ya bakriyon, ya gaayon, ya paisa se badal le, 'To use kuch adaa nahi karna padega.' Isi aalim ne kaha, 'Agar koi apni oonton ki Zakat saal poora hone se ek din ya ek saal pehle de deta hai (jiske aakhir mein Zakat farz hoti hai), to uski Zakat sahi (valid) hogi.'
