Sahih al-Bukhari 7014

Hadith text

Narrated `Abdullah bin Salam:(In a dream) I saw myself in a garden, and there was a pillar in the middle of the garden, and there was a handhold at the top of the pillar. I was asked to climb it. I said, "I cannot." Then a servant came and lifted up my clothes and I climbed (the pillar), and then got hold of the handhold, and I woke up while still holding it. I narrated that to the Prophet (ﷺ) who said, "The garden symbolizes the garden of Islam, and the handhold is the firm Islamic handhold which indicates that you will be adhering firmly to Islam until you die

Abdullah bin Salam bataate hain: (Khwaab mein) maine khud ko ek baag mein dekha, aur baag ke beech mein ek khambha tha, aur khambhe ke oopar ek pakad (handhold) thi. Mujhse (isper) chadhne ko kaha gaya. Maine kaha, 'Main nahi kar sakta.' Phir ek khaadim aaya aur mere kapde uthaaye aur main (khambhe par) chadha, aur phir maine pakad thaam li, aur main use thaame hue jaaga. Maine ye Nabi (SAW) ko sunaaya, jinhone kaha, 'Baag Islam ke baag ka pratik hai, aur pakad mazboot Islami pakad hai jo dikhaata hai ke tum apni maut tak Islam par mazbooti se qaayam rahoge.'
