Hadith text

Narrated Abu Salama:I used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard Abu Qatada saying, "I too, used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "A good dream is from Allah, so if anyone of you saw a dream which he liked, he should not tell it to anybody except to the one whom he loves, and if he saw a dream which he disliked, then he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Satan, and spit three times (on his left) and should not tell it to anybody, for it will not harm him

Abu Salama bataate hain: Main aksar aisa khwaab dekhta jo mujhe bimar kar deta tha yahaan tak ke maine Abu Qatada ko ye kehte suna, 'Main bhi aisa khwaab dekha karta tha jo mujhe bimar kar deta tha yahaan tak ke maine Nabi (SAW) ko ye kehte suna, "Achha khwaab Allah ki taraf se hota hai, isliye agar tum mein se koi aisa khwaab dekhe jo use pasand ho, to use kisi ko nahi batana chaahiye siwaaye us shaks ke jise wo pyaar karta hai, aur agar wo aisa khwaab dekhe jo use napasand ho, to use Allah ki panaah maangni chaahiye uski buraai se aur Shaitaan ki buraai se, aur teen baar thookna chaahiye (apni baayin taraf), aur ise kisi ko nahi batana chaahiye, kyunke isse use nuqsaan nahi hoga."'
