Sahih al-Bukhari 7098

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Wail:Someone said to Usama, "Will you not talk to this (Uthman)?" Usama said, "I talked to him (secretly) without being the first man to open an evil door. I will never tell a ruler who rules over two men or more that he is good after I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'A man will be brought and put in Hell (Fire) and he will circumambulate (go around and round) in Hell (Fire) like a donkey of a (flour) grinding mill, and all the people of Hell (Fire) will gather around him and will say to him, O so-and-so! Didn't you use to order others for good and forbid them from evil?' That man will say, 'I used to order others to do good but I myself never used to do it, and I used to forbid others from evil while I myself used to do evil

Abu Wail bataate hain: Kisi ne Usama se kaha, 'Kya aap is (Uthman) se baat nahi karenge?' Usama ne kaha, 'Maine unse (chupke se) baat ki, bina buraai ka darwaaza kholne wala pehla aadmi bane. Main kabhi kisi hukmraan ko jo do ya zyaada logon par hukmraani karta ho ye nahi kahoonga ke wo achha hai, jab se maine Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ko ye kehte suna, "Ek aadmi laaya jaayega aur Jahannam ki Aag mein daala jaayega, aur wo Jahannam mein aise chakkar lagaayega jaise ek gadhaa (aata pisai ki) chakki ka gadhaa, aur sab Jahannam waale uske gird jama honge aur usse kahenge, 'Aye falaan! Kya tum doosron ko achhaai ka hukm nahi dete the aur unhein buraai se nahi rokte the?' Wo aadmi kahega, 'Main doosron ko achhaai karne ka hukm deta tha magar khud kabhi nahi karta tha, aur main doosron ko buraai se rokta tha jabke khud buraai karta tha.'"'
