Sahih al-Bukhari 7283

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Musa:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "My example and the example of what I have been sent with is that of a man who came to some people and said, 'O people! I have seen the enemy's army with my own eyes, and I am the naked warner; so protect yourselves!' Then a group of his people obeyed him and fled at night proceeding stealthily till they were safe, while another group of them disbelieved him and stayed at their places till morning when the army came upon them, and killed and ruined them completely So this is the example of that person who obeys me and follows what I have brought (the Qur'an and the Sunna), and the example of the one who disobeys me and disbelieves the truth I have brought

Abu Musa bataate hain: Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Meri misaal aur us paighaam ki misaal jiske saath mujhe bheja gaya hai, aise aadmi jaisi hai jo kuch logon ke paas aaya aur kaha, "Aye logo! Maine apni khud ki aankhon se dushman ki fauj dekhi hai, aur main ek nangi talwaar liye chetaawani dene wala hoon; isliye khud ko bachaao!" Phir unke ek giroh ne uski baat maani aur raat ko chupke se, dheere-dheere nikal gaye yahaan tak ke wo mehfooz ho gaye, jabke doosre giroh ne uski baat par yaqeen nahi kiya aur apni jagah rukk gaye jab tak subah fauj ne unhein pakad na liya, aur unhein qatl karke poori tarah tabaah kar diya. To ye misaal hai us shaks ki jo meri baat maanta hai aur jo main laaya hoon (Quran aur Sunnat) uski pairvi karta hai, aur us shaks ki misaal jo meri nafarmaani karta hai aur jo Haq main laaya hoon usse inkaar karta hai.'
