Hadith text

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:A woman came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "My mother vowed to perform the Hajj but she died before performing it. Should I perform the Hajj on her behalf?" He said, "Yes! Perform the Hajj on her behalf. See, if your mother had been in debt, would you have paid her debt?" She said, "Yes." He said, "So you should pay what is for Him as Allah has more right that one should fulfill one's obligations to Him

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Ek khaatoon Nabi (SAW) ke paas aayi aur kaha, 'Meri maa ne Hajj karne ki mannat maani thi magar wo (poori karne se pehle) mar gayi. Kya main unki taraf se Hajj kar sakti hoon?' Unhone kaha, 'Haan! Unki taraf se Hajj karo. Dekho, agar tumhaari maa par qarz hota, kya tum unka qarz nahi chukaate?' Usne kaha, 'Haan.' Unhone kaha, 'To wo bhi ada karo jo Allah ka haq hai, kyunke Allah ka haq isse zyaada hai ke koi apne farz poore kare.'
