Sahih al-Bukhari 7359

Hadith text

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever has eaten garlic or onion, should keep away from us, or should keep away from our mosque and should stay at home." Ibn Wahb said, "Once a plate full of cooked vegetables was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) at Badr. Detecting a bad smell from it, he asked about the dish and was informed of the kinds of vegetables in contained. He then said, "Bring it near," and so it was brought near to one of his companions who was with him. When the Prophet (ﷺ) saw it, he disliked eating it and said (to his companion), "Eat, for I talk in secret to ones whom you do not talk to

Jabir bin Abdullah bataate hain: Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Jo koi lehsun ya pyaaz khaaye, use hamse door rehna chaahiye, ya hamaari Masjid se door rehna chaahiye aur apne ghar mein rehna chaahiye.' Ibn Wahb ne kaha, 'Ek baar pakayi hui sabziyon se bhari ek thaali Nabi (SAW) ke paas Badr mein laayi gayi. Usmein se buri khushbu paate hue, unhone dish ke baare mein pucha aur unhein bataaya gaya ke isme kaunsi sabziyaan hain. Unhone phir kaha, "Ise qareeb laao," aur wo apne ek saathi ke paas laayi gayi jo unke saath tha. Jab Nabi (SAW) ne use dekha, unhein isse khaana napasand aaya aur unhone (apne saathi se) kaha, "Khaao, kyunke main un logon se chupke se baat karta hoon jinse tum baat nahi karte."'
