Hadith text
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Once I stayed overnight at the house of (my aunt ) Maimuna while the Prophet (ﷺ) was with her, to see how was the night prayer of Allah's Apostle Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) talked to his wife for a while and then slept. When it was the last third of the night (or part of it), the Prophet (ﷺ) got up and looked towards the sky and recited the Verse:-- 'Verily! In the creation of the Heavens and the Earth....there are indeed signs for the men of understanding.' (3.190) Then He got up and performed the ablution, brushed his teeth and offered eleven rak`at. Then Bilal pronounced the Adhan whereupon the Prophet (ﷺ) offered a two-rak`at (Sunna) prayer and went out to lead the people in Fajr (morning compulsory congregational prayer)
Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Ek baar main apni khaala Maimuna ke ghar raat guzaari jabke Nabi (SAW) unke saath the, ye dekhne ke liye ke Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ki raat ki namaz kaisi hoti hai. Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne apni biwi se thodi der baat ki aur phir so gaye. Jab raat ka aakhri tihaai hissa (ya uska kuch hissa) aaya, Nabi (SAW) uthe aur aasmaan ki taraf dekha aur ye Aayat padhi: 'Beshak! Aasmaanon aur Zameen ki takhleeq mein...beshak samajhdaar logon ke liye nishaaniyaan hain.' (3:190) Phir wo uthe aur wuzu kiya, apne daant saaf kiye, aur gyaarah rakat padhi. Phir Bilal ne Azaan di, jispar Nabi (SAW) ne do rakat (Sunnat) namaz padhi aur logon ko Fajr (farz jamaat ki subah ki namaz) padhaane baahar gaye.
