Hadith text
Narrated Al-Hasan:`Amr bin Taghlib said, "Some property was given to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he gave it to some people and withheld it from some others. Then he came to know that they (the latter) were dissatisfied. So the Prophet said, 'I give to one man and leave (do not give) another, and the one to whom I do not give is dearer to me than the one to whom I give. I give to some people because of the impatience and discontent present in their hearts, and leave other people because of the content and goodness Allah has bestowed on them, and one of them is `Amr bin Taghlib." `Amr bin Taghlib said, "The sentence which Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said in my favor is dearer to me than the possession of nice red camels
Al-Hasan bataate hain: Amr bin Taghlib ne kaha, 'Nabi (SAW) ko kuch jaayadaad di gayi aur unhone use kuch logon ko diya aur kuch se rok liya. Phir unhein pata chala ke wo (baad wale) asantusht hain. Isper Nabi (SAW) ne kaha, "Main ek aadmi ko deta hoon aur doosre ko nahi deta (rokta hoon), aur jise main nahi deta wo mujhe us se zyaada pyaara hai jise main deta hoon. Main kuch logon ko unke dilon mein maujood betaabi aur asantosh ki wajah se deta hoon, aur kuch logon ko iski wajah se rokta hoon ke Allah ne unhein santosh aur bhalaai se nawaaza hai, aur unmein se ek Amr bin Taghlib hai."' Amr bin Taghlib ne kaha, 'Wo jumla jo Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne mere haq mein kaha, wo mujhe laal-laal khoobsoorat oonton ke maalik hone se bhi zyaada pyaara hai.'
