Sahih al-Bukhari 7552

Hadith text

Narrated `Ali:While the Prophet (ﷺ) was in a funeral procession, he took a stick and started scraping the earth with it and said, "There is none of you but has his place assigned either in Hell or in Paradise." They (the people) said, "Shall we not depend upon that (and give up doing any deeds)?' He said, " Carry on doing (good deeds) for everybody will find it easy to do such deeds as will lead him to his destined place for which he has been created ." (And then the Prophet (ﷺ) recited the Verse):-- 'As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah

Ali bataate hain: Jabke Nabi (SAW) ek janaaze ke jaluus mein the, unhone ek lakdi li aur usse zameen khurachni shuru ki aur kaha, 'Tum mein se koi bhi aisa nahi hai jiski jagah Jahannam ya Jannat mein pehle se taye na ho.' Logon ne kaha, 'To kya hum isi par bharosa na karein (aur nek amaal karna chhod dein)?' Unhone kaha, 'Nahi, (achhe) amaal karte raho, kyunke har shaks ke liye wo amaal karna aasaan hoga jo use uski taye ki hui jagah tak le jaayenge jiske liye use banaaya gaya hai.' (Aur phir Nabi (SAW) ne ye Aayat padhi:) 'Jo koi (sadqe mein) deta hai aur Allah ki farmaanbardaari karta hai...'
